We have written dozens of business plans over the years. In one instance going through the process of business planning helped the potential business owner realize that he or she just didn’t have the resources, capital and energy to jump into business. She was a young lady who really wanted to buy a local restaurant. The business, however, was a cash business, it had no financial records to work from. So, I convinced her to sit with me for one week at a table in the restaurant during lunch, count the patrons and lunch plates sold and watch the amount of work required to run the business. While we quickly realized that the revenues would support the purchase price, the hours of preparation time, cleaning and hard work convinced her that her money was going to be better invested elsewhere.
We have written business plans as well as offering documents along with funding plans for businesses. All of the offerings documents include funding plans and were successful within the time period of the offering.
